“No county is more beautiful; few, if any, are more unspoilt.” (John Julius Norwich)

Within two and half hours of London and Manchester and hidden down a long drive, we are just five minutes in the car from direct rail links to Oxford and London, Birmingham and Hereford, where connections can be made to the West Coast line from South Wales to Manchester. The M50 is only ten minutes away which allows for excellent access to the M5 and the motorway network. olymp trade reviews

Hidden among cider orchards and a few hundred yards from an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this former farmstead occupies one of Herefordshire’s most charming spots. The cottages are set within fifteen acres of grounds belonging to The Woodhouse, a Grade II* listed, part-moated medieval hall house on the site of an Iron Age settlement. The grounds and gardens are diverse and beautifully kept and fruit is plentiful in summer months.

The cottages are converted to a very high standard from existing farm buildings. Barn Croft was a calf house attached to a stone stable with loft above and The Wainhouse provided for the storage of wagons. The latter, a single storey building, has brick arches overlooking a stone-flagged terrace. The private gardens of each are south-facing and sunny, with garden furniture and barbecues; Barn Croft garden overlooks the moat with its water-lilies, yellow and blue irises and rushes which provide a habitat for a variety of wildlife. The moat is home to mirror carp and from time to time, herons and kingfishers stop by for lunch.

The ancient and picturesque market town of Ledbury is the ideal place from which to explore the three counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucester, the Cotswolds and Shakespeare’s country olymp trade app . You can walk the Malvern Hills, cycle the byways or canoe on the River Wye.

For gardens, visit Hampton Court, or the National Collection of Michaelmas daisies or go slightly further afield to Hidcote and Kiftsgate in the Cotswolds.

Visit the Marcher castles, Hereford Cathedral, the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library. There are other ancient cathedrals and churches, museums and great houses such as Berrington Hall, Eastnor Castle and Whitley Court. The local black and white villages are well worth visiting.

If gastronomy whets your appetite, this area has plenty to offer. There are vineyards, cider apple orchards, cheese makers and ice-cream makers and even hand-made chocolates from Ledbury. The area now has a number of micro breweries producing an interesting selection of ales.

Perhaps you might enjoy the Races at Cheltenham, Hereford or Ludlow, or for the more active, grass boarding, the choral music of the Three Choirs Festival or the Jazz Festival at Upton. Whatever your interests, you are sure to be able to indulge them from here.

We look forward to welcoming you to the peaceful retreat that is...

Luxury weekend getaways and self catering holiday cottages in english country cottages for romantic getaways or weekend breaks in Ledbury, Herefordshire accommodation close to the Cotswolds.

The Woodhouse Farm Cottages - luxury weekend getaways in english country cottages.

The english country cottages and grounds occupy one of Herefordshire's most charming spots for self catering weekend getaways in holiday cottages. The lovely countryside surrounding the picturesque and ancient market town of Ledbury is the perfect place from which to explore the three counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire and is close to the Cotswolds. This is the rural landscape which inspired poets from Langland to Masefield, and composers from Parry to Elgar. On weekend getaways come to walk the Malvern Hills, cycle the byways or canoe on the River Wye; visit the Marcher Castles, ancient cathedrals and churches, gardens, literary or music festivals. The Cotswolds is a short drive away.

The Woodhouse Farm english country cottages lie at the heart of 15 acres of land. Once a hop farm, its buildings are being converted and decorated in a way that reflects the individuality of each into self catering holiday cottages. The main cottage (The Woodhouse) is a 15th century hall house (listed grade II star) partially encircled by a moat.

Barn Croft is full of character and ideal for self catering weekend getaways - originally a calf house, adjoining a stone stable with loft above. Self catering accommodation consists of a large open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room with woodburner and south facing views over the garden, moat and farmland. The large principal bedroom and bathroom are upstairs in the stone barn. Each downstairs bedroom has an en-suite shower.

Barn Croft has its own private terrace and garden ideal for romantic getaways, overlooking the carp-filled moat (parents of young children please note) and access to shared grounds.
